Advanced Skin Resurfacing & Lifting with RF Microneedling

As we age, our skin loses its fresh and smooth appearance because we lose collagen, develop areas of hyperpigmentation from sun exposure, and form wrinkles and creases. Today more people than ever are avoiding invasive plastic surgery procedures like the facelift because there are effective non-surgical options that allow them to return to work quickly with little downtime and discomfort.

Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling is a groundbreaking technology that can restore the youthful look through skin resurfacing and tightening. These devices are safe and effectively treat skin laxity while removing excess fat. Energy is deposited into the deep layers of the skin that stimulates natural regeneration of collagen and elastin, as well as tightens the skin and reduces skin laxity by shrinking collagen and removing subdermal fat. The end result is a more youthful look with increased volume and suppleness.

Is Treatment With RF Microneedling Painful?

At Studio R Aesthetics, we ensure that our patients have access to treatments without fear of intolerable discomfort. We apply the strongest topical anesthetic available to the treatment site for at least 60-90 minutes prior to performing the procedure, which desensitizes the nerve endings in the epidermis and reduces sensations from RF microneedling.

We can administer Pronox, which is a self-delivery nitrous oxide system that increases physical and emotional comfort for our patients.

Frequently Asked Questions

The length of the treatment depends on the individual’s needs. Typically, patients will need 60-90 minutes for topical numbing and 30-60 minutes to complete the procedure.

Our RF microneedling devices are versatile. They can be used on any area of the body that can benefit from collagen renewal. The most common areas include the lower face and neck, abdomen, and love handles. Areas with acne scarring or stretch marks can also be treated with RF microneedling.

RF microneedling is a non-invasive procedure so there is minimal downtime or recovery. Most people return to work the day after their treatment. Post-treatment, you may see pinpoint bleeding from the needles. This should only last for a few minutes. Your skin will be red and feel hot like it is a bit sunburned for up to one week. Swelling around the treated areas can occur but should be resolved within a day or two. A good moisturizer and a broad-spectrum sunscreen are recommended. We can also use a Microcurrent Mask immediately after the procedure to reduce redness.

After being treated, your skin will be refreshed, revitalized and enhanced. Over the course of several weeks, new layers of collagen will begin to plump and volumize depleted skin contours, firming up your complexion so it appears more youthful and smooth. The skin’s overall tone and texture will be superior to that which you began treatment. Over 1-3 months, you may notice a subtle lift with reduced skin laxity and wrinkles. It is recommended that you undergo a series of treatments with RF microneedling to experience full, comprehensive benefits. This is also a great treatment to avoid more invasive procedures like plastic surgery.

With topical numbing, the procedure is relatively painless even with the deeper penetration of needles. The needles used are very sharp and fine, allowing the benefit of puncturing your skin without the feeling of any tugging or pulling. When the procedure begins, you might feel a slight prickling sensation followed by a feeling of warmth as the needles pass over your skin. The advanced technology of our devices provide controlled and consistent heat delivery allowing for uniform treatment and results.

The benefit of our devices technology is that it can be used on all skin types. The unique properties allow even darker tones to be treated with little risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which is common with other resurfacing methods.
